Procedures

MSI performs both adult and pediatric echocardiographic procedures, as well as stress echocardiograms.

Adult Echocardiogram

Real time, 2-D imaging is performed with visualization and evaluation of cardiac anatomy. Wall motion, valvular function, and blood flow is evaluated, and any abnormality is characterized and documented.

Pediatric Echocardiogram

Same as the Adult Echocardiogram, but with an increased focus on congenital abnormalities. Sedation may be needed for optimal diagnostic results.

Stress Echocardiogram

Same as Adult Echocardiogram but with a treadmill stress test included. Abbreviated procedure: Pre-treadmill echo clips are obtained, then the pt walks/runs on the treadmill, followed immediately by one minute of post-treadmill echo clips. The pre and post clips are compared and evaluated for the possibility of wall motion abnormalities.
